The 2014 Chevy Equinox is probably the best car I've ever decided upon. The car is spacious enough for 4 large, big boned people, or 5 if the passengers are small. The trunk space is decent, not huge but can hold a big shopping trip. The middle console has a sub outlet so you can hook up your phone directly to the car if you don't want to burn your battery on Bluetooth. I like the touch screen capabilities and the back up camera. I do not know how I lived life in my other cars without the back up camera. The only thing I do not like about the car is the lack of power. When trying to accelerate I sometimes I have to give my car and pep talk and say COME ON you CAN DO IT! It takes awhile for it to get up to speed. And this happens on regular engine mode, not economy mode.
Story
My family and I drove to Arizona to watch our nephew graduate from ASU, and most recently we drove to San Jose. We have already been on a number of road trips in the Equinox. Big enough to bring luggage and family, but not so big that it would eat up gas. But here's a memory. In planning one of trips to Fresno, which is about 4-5 hour drive from home, I made about 25 musubi to eat in the car a... (more)
Pros
Price and all the features that came with it. The eco mode will save you on gas, which I like. The gas mileage on this car is really good. I average about 20 miles / gallon.
Cons
Lack of power in accelerating.

The vehicle is a poor performer, the mileage is bad, the exhaust is one of the worst I've ever seen on a modern car and you barely can stand near it when running unless you love smog. The power is non existent and the rearview mirror is too small. The interior is cheap and easily scratched. No space to put anything anywhere. Definitely wouldn't recommend to even my enemy. While it may be reliable and hasn't broken down yet, the comfort in this car is barely there and I couldn't stand going more than 3 hours at once in it. I have a large family though and I am able to store a large amount of groceries in the rear seat combined. That's a pro.
Story
Took it to a local park once that I've taken all my veichles to and it performed well in being easy to park, was surprised it wasn't too hard. Made me think it wasn't that bad.
Pros
The air conditioning is a pro, it has great air. Good visibility, not many blind spots in it. Drives smooth. The speakers are great, very loud and the bass is amazing. If it was $10k cheaper, I'd enjoy it.
Cons
The car has a "cheap" feeling to it. For a vehicle that was over $25,000 it certainly doesn't seem worth it. The interior is poor, horrible design and a cluttered UI on the touch screen display. OnStar is ok at best and the heated seats barely even get to luke warm. The gas mileage promised was 22 MPG... as if! I can't get it above 15. I wish I had bought a Honda instead. Also it barely has any power to it. I basically have to push it to the floor to even get to 40 MPH.

I went in by myself to look for a car. I knew I didn't want to work with someone who was pushy and just wanted a sale so I told them that. They set me up with a very nice older gentleman who answered my questions, made suggestions based off of my needs. We looked at four or five cars, then we test drove the model that I wound up purchasing. In all it was a pleasant experience and I couldn't have had a better sales person.
