My Tahoe has been a dependable and solid vehicle during my time of ownership. It currently has over 210,000 miles and does not seem to have any major mechanical issue with the drivetrain. The interior of the vehicle has held up well, especially with three young children. None of the leather seats are torn, and the dash is immaculate with the exception of one small tear on the upper dash vinyl from sun. The vehicle has no rust even after almost ten years. The third row seats are removable to allow for a huge cargo carrying area, unlike the newer Tahoes with electronic seats. I also have a 2016 Tahoe and prefer a lot of the 2008s features over the newer model. The cargo racks are easy to use and adjustable, again unlike the newer model. The vehicle rides smooth. So far, doing my... (more)
Story
Went camping in remote location. Due to huge cargo area, I got to sleep in the vehicle comfortably while everyone else roughed it outside in the cold.
Pros
My favorite, hands down, feature of the vehicle is the amount of cargo space with the third-row seats removed and the second row folded up. The power and handling are very good. The vehicle is built well because at ten years and over 200,000 miles, it is still going strong. The interior has upheld a lot of abuse and still is looking good except for some cosmetic issues.
Cons
The fuel mileage is not very good. After several years of ownership, degradation of fuel mileage was very noticeable. Currently gets about 14 miles to the gallon at the most. Cosmetically, many things started following coming off after about five years. The steering wheel's "black" cover over the plastic started coming off. The chrome plating on the door handles flaked off. The Chevy bowtie gold is actually a thin piece of aluminum that dropped off.

It's a pretty good vehicle, it's larger and spacious if that's something you need. Comfortable for long drives with many people. It's been pretty sturdy for me so far, no breaking down, no pieces breaking, the interior is still in good condition. The back seats, those near the rear of the trunk, are not made for grown adults however. While adults can fit in the back, the floor is too high up and there is little to no leg room. This causes riders to be uncomfortable if the drive is longer than say 20 minutes. The "trunk" space is pretty good. With the back seats up, there is a little bit of room for whatever you want to put back there, if more space is needed, you can fold the back seats forward to have enough room to fit a bicycle. Speaking about the folding mechanisms, they haven't br... (more)
Story
Driving to beaches in the summer can be a good experience with this vehicle. A couple times I've driven to beaches for the weekend with some friends. Because of the large size of the vehicle, it was used as a replacement for a hotel/motel. We slept, changed, ate in the vehicle and it was a great time.
Pros
-There were never any problems with anything breaking with the vehicle. -Comfortable and spacious: The vehicle is spacious enough for 5 large people, with added less comfortable seats (for larger people) in the back.
Cons
-Gas guzzler: The main reason I don't use it anymore. The comfort is not worth the gas for shorter drives and for longer drives the gas is still hard to justify. -Large size: Because of its size it is comfortable. But the size makes parking hard and also makes driving a bit harder when you get used to driving smaller vehicles for a while.

These 2 guys were pretty relaxed and did not pressure me at all. They were helpful just by being nice and answering a few Qs. Since I already knew what I wanted it wasn't hard to find the only 90's van on the lot. The finance guy was helpful in working around my credit.

As soon as we stepped on the lot, a knowledgeable salesman walked us through the process of buying a car. He asked about our budget, whether we were looking for new or used, and if we had any preference on which car. We originally were looking for a Chevy Cruze but ended up with a midsize Malibu for about the same price.
