About two years ago, I purchased this 2007 Chevy Impala police car from a municipal auction. It was a plain white Impala with no bells or whistles which if, I had to say anything, one of the aspects of the vehicle that I did not like. The lights and the rest of the police equipment had been removed which left some filled in imperfections that I was readily willing to overlook. My total purchase price was around $1,400 and was drive ready. The vehicle passed the state emission standards, I plated it and was ready to go. I drove this vehicle for about a year and a half before anything went wrong. First, I changed the brakes, then, the headlamp bulbs, finally, the engine light came on which was cased by a loose censor wire. The repairs that I made were minimal and still kept me well below the cost of buying a new car or even some used cars. In February 2019 this remarkable vehicle, with approximately 180,000 miles, passed the states emissions standards. The passing of those standards will allow me to drive this vehicle for another two years if it holds up. I enjoy its pickup, meaning it runs strong. It has active fuel management which probably decreases my fuel consumption. Given the choice to do it all over again, I would definitely purchase this car all over again or seek out another municipal auction.
