I have owned my Impala since 2008. It currently has over 70,000 miles on it and has been a very dependable car. Other than routine maintenance, I have not had any major issues with the car. After researching many different models, I picked the car based on the value I received for the money. The car is stylish and has a lot of features for the price. It is a flex fuel model and gets very good gas mileage especially on the road. The exterior paint looks almost as good as it did when I bought the car. The exterior trim is also holding up well. The interior has good quality leather seats. The interior of the car is spacious and comfortable for 4 people. Another person can ride in the back seat for a total capacity of 5. The ride is relatively smooth and the car handles well. T... (more)
Story
We recently took our Impala on a trip to the beach, and were able to load all of our beach gear, toys, snacks in the trunk with room to spare.
Pros
Good gas mileage Spacious interior and trunk Low maintenance costs Dependable
Cons
The overall quality of materials used in the vehicle could be better, but is fine for the price. For example, we previously owned a 2002 Impala with leather seats, and felt that the leather was of higher quality in the 2002 Impala. It seems that Chevrolet has started using less expensive materials in their cars.

2009 Chevrolet Impala - Simple, but gets the job done.

The 2009 Chevrolet Impala is a very basic car in most respects. It is not the fastest vehicle. It is not the fanciest vehicle. It lacks any kind of computer screen or on board GPS system. It is, however, comfortable and reasonably priced at this point. It may be basic, but it is by no means a piece of junk. In fact, its simplicity has grown on me and I am now very used to backing up without a camera or any kind of technological assistance. This, in turn, has made me a better driver so I can't complain too much about it. For the price I paid, this is honestly not a bad car.
Story
I had a lot of fun taking my Impala to work after I had washed and waxed it and getting a lot of complements from my coworkers. The chrome really does shine after a good polish, and the paint that GM puts onto these cars is very shiny.
Pros
I love the cloth seats. They are ridiculously comfortable and very plush. I also like the chrome trim on the outside as well as the Impala emblems. They are shiny and look very nice on a sunny day. The oil life monitor is also a handy feature that lets me know when I need to consider getting my oil changed. I am also a fan of the way that the car is built. It is not at all difficult to work on and repair which has proved very beneficial and saved me hundreds of dollars.
Cons
The main problem with this car is its lack of horsepower. While it does have enough power to do many basic tasks, it can sometimes feel sluggish when attempting to rapidly accelerate in a highway environment. While this is to be expected, it is still an annoyance.
