1999 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 - A great vehicle that still runs.
I bought this truck when it was brand new and I was really excited to be back in a pickup after owning a car for far too long. It has definitely lived up to my expectations - I've had to take it into the shop a very minimal amount of times, the only issues I currently have with it are the fact that it is simply wearing down after so many years of use alongside cosmetic wear. I've made many cross country trips in this vehicle and I've never had to worry about whether or not I'd make it back home.
Story
I slept in the backseat at a truck stop overnight once and woke up to a cop knocking on the window because the windows had fogged up from my breathing. He thought they were fogged up from something else!
Pros
One of the biggest pros to this vehicle was the fact that I have always been able to sleep in the backseat when on road trips because it seemed roomy and comfortable enough, and I can definitely say the same for the front seat as well - I've never felt cramped or closed in, and that's not something I can say about all pickup cabs. Braking and handling have both seemed to run as they should.
Cons
The cons would be how easily the paint job has faded over time, and now parts of the paint surrounding the bed of the truck have rusted off. You can feel every little bump in the road when driving this truck, too, though that is one of very few complaints about this truck that I actually have.
2006 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 - I think the truck is built well.
The truck -- when I first got it -- was in average condition. It had minor electrical issues that were not addressed when I bought the truck, which was a negative that I didn't like, but I was not being picky and bought the truck. It was the truck that I wanted for a long time, and it was a better vehicle that was not behind in payments, so that was a big positive for me. The truck has had mechanical issues in the past, but that has been from lack of mechanical upkeep. The truck does have horrible gas mileage, which I do not mind. I have to fill up several times a week, which hurts my budget overall. The monthly payment is horrible, because it was from a no-credit dealership that has a limited amount of vehicles to choose from. I was not giving a upright amount to pay, and it wasn't un... (more)
Story
I helped my boss move all of his furniture from his old house to his new house, and while we were going to his new house, we ran out of gas which was very funny.
Pros
The pros is that I got the vehicle that I wanted since high school, and it is a great truck to have. The interior design material is average but nothing great. Leather would be a better interior for the truck. The performance is average, and it is a V6. It would be better if it were a V8. I have had mechanical issues with the truck which has made me break down more than once. Given it having a truck bed, I am able to help friends and family move and haul large objects if need be.
Cons
The cost of the vehicle and the mechanical upkeep along with the gas mileage are the cons.

2006 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 - South Pointe Chevrolet Tulsa
They treated me like an actual person instead of just a commission.
They were open and honest with me about everything.
They didn't beat around the bush.
They didn't try to sell me something I wasn't interested in.
They went out of their way to make sure that I found the perfect vehicle.
