I love the retro look of this vehicle. I have driven Hondas for the past 20 years and made the move to the PT Cruiser because other people I know had them and loved them. Although I was a bit skeptical, I haven't been disappointed. Regular maintenance keeps it running well. On the whole its suspension is quite tight, "jeep" - like. This took a bit of getting used to, but the ride is also very smooth. On the open highway it handles well and seems to "like" long trips.
Story
Driving to Cape Cod on summer evening, sun roof open, "oldies" radio station blasting... singing our hearts out! Great time. Also little table attachment in back hatch is great for beach picnics.
Pros
This car is great for short trips. The back seat is very comfortable and there is adequate storage space for 4 passengers and bags. The back seat is very easy to get in and out of for those who have difficulty getting into lower seat models. It handles well and has enough pep to handle both highway and country roads. The back seat area is deep enough to fit a large dog crate and still have room for a passenger. With the seats folded down, a bike (without front wheel) fits easily. I carry 2 bikes on rear bike rack with no problem and it doesn't seem to effect gas mileage.
Cons
The gas mileage is not great for a small SUV. Other than this, I can't think of other cons. For longer trips there would only be enough room for 3 adults, as the "trunk" space is limited. The tire rims do rust and need to be sanded down which leads to a leaky tire issue. Make sure to check the tire pressure frequently.

2002 Chrysler PT Cruiser - broken piece of junk

There are very few things I like about my car, this includes the color, its black and it does a lot space for travel. The rest of the car is a piece of junk. The front end is usual a mess because more weight is towards the front which puts more pressure on the front wheel bearings causing them to wear quickly. And bumps or knocks don't improve the situation because the front end cant take that much of a beating.
Pros
My favorite features of the car is that it is black and the back trunk has some nifty shelves that allow for more storage space then normally would be had in a regular car. I do like my bullet proof gas cover has well.
Cons
The engine and the front end are not built terribly well so it requires a lot more repair work then my old car did. The look of the car is kind of ugly too.
