Overall, just a solid car. I got it about three years ago and it was in need of a timing belt replacement (which I knew at the time and got a good deal for it because of that); beyond that, basic maintenance has kept it purring along. It's a 'low-tech' car... Which is right up my alley; manual drive, as few computer-interaction points as possible.
Story
I just love taking it car camping... I've gotten trapped in summer thunderstorms in the Sierras and always surprised myself at how quickly I can pack up a campground and fill it all in my car when the rain starts down!
Pros
Space - seriously, l volume capacity is huge. I've helped many friends move and we're always astounded. Removable back seats - sure, this is a part of the "space" thing, but it also means I can sleep in the back (with ALL the head room!) Still going! - Being over 15 years old now, it has remarkably few rattles, etc. Manual gear - I LOVE driving a stick.
Cons
The engine bay is a bit cramped, I was sort of hoping to be able to poke around a bit more (with my total lack of experience) but I really can't get in anywhere. Because of the above, it costs more when repairs are required because the mechanics can't get in there either, so it's more likely they'll pull the block (which is more man-hours). It looks pretty ridiculous.

My PT Cruiser was a good car. It ran well for up to 90,000 miles. It's a very comfortable car to drive and ride in; however, they don't get the best gas mileage. I drove it regularly up and down the California coast as well as to Las Vegas and northern Arizona.
Story
I placed two dog beds in the roomy backseat for my dogs to travel with me. They never complained.
Pros
I loved how roomy it was inside. It made for a great car to travel in. I generally pack lite to travel, but my wife is known to bring three full-sized suitcases for a weekend getaway. The PT had plenty of room for all of it. They are very easy to see out of in traffic. I prefer checking my surroundings as opposed to only using the mirrors. They provide a good 360 degree view. The standard stereo/CD player sounded great.
Cons
The A/C went out at 50,000. Not much in the way of power. Pretty gutless, which can be a pain in traffic. I began to have electrical problems around 90K miles. After putting some money into it, I decided to sell it.
