Not too good, not too bad...
Overall, the Dodge Dakota is a simple pick-up truck. Its design looks nice, and the quad-cab is convenient. With the back seats, it provides a nice mix of work utility and family vehicle. Unfortunately, many components do not seem made to last a very long time. With only 70,000 miles, many important items have had to be replaced. Although it is very inexpensive now that it is an older truck, the cheap price is offset by the many replacement items you have to buy for it. The shortened bed makes loading and unloading items very easy, but there is not very much room overall. The upholstery has held up well over time, but the floor mats were easily worn through within a couple months and the floor can stain very easily. The fuel mileage is what you would expect for a pick-up truck (about 300 miles/tank highway, about 175 miles/tank city). The transmission has had multiple issues, and does not like to shift up when on the interstate. The alignment has held up over time, and tire wear has been even.

Good truck, gets the job done
The Dodge Dakota is a good truck for basic hauling or retrieving materials like lumber for home repairs. Mine has four doors for extra seating so I can carry extra passengers as may be required.
