This is a great mid-sized crossover vehicle for an active family. The vehicle handles well in rain and snow. The fold-down third row seat allows for extra cargo room, and there is even a hidden compartment in the cargo area which helps hide things from other’s view. The seating is comfortable for long road trips and provides enough room for passengers to stretch out. The vehicle provides a smooth, quiet ride. The vehicle gets good gas mileage both in town and on the highway. The size allows for easy maneuverability in tight spaces but is definitely not a compact vehicle. Driving this vehicle is easy whether a quick trip to the store or across the state.
Story
There was one game where my son was particularly dirty from playing baseball. He apologized all the way home for getting my car so dirty. I told him it wasn't a big deal -- I didn't sit in that seat anyway.
Pros
There are many positives in this vehicle. The interior is roomy, and there is great storage space available, including hidden floor compartments. Each seat also has drink holders available. There are also multiple power options including USB ports and places for plug-in chargers. The back area of the vehicle is spacious and allows for transportation of larger items. The vehicle is reliable, performs well, and requires minimal maintenance.
Cons
The top negative thing about this vehicle is the functionality of the third row seat. While the concept is great -- more passenger space, the reality of it is that only small children would be comfortably in the third row seat. The look of the car is not particularly great, but the vehicle functionality makes up for it.

2009 Dodge Journey - Ok, but could use improvement.

I purchased my Journey because I needed third row seating, but I quickly discovered that with the third row seat up there is no storage space left in the rear. It does have plenty of power and passes other cars easily, but sometimes I have to manually shift it because the transmission doesn't like it when you floor it. There is plenty of storage space if you keep the third row folded down. I also like that the second row and front passenger seat also fold down. An 8 foot 2x4 will fit well if all the seats are folded down. Repair costs are as would be expected and not overly expensive. It runs surprisingly well for having almost 200,000 miles on it currently. The 19 inch wheels look nice on it but the rare size tires make it almost $1,000 to replace all 4 tires. Overall I do like the Jo... (more)
Story
Driving around on the back roads is fun in the Journey. It gets around very well on gravel.
Pros
I like the style of the Journey. I also like the storage space with all the seats folded down.
Cons
I don't like the fact that I have so many repairs lately. Also the radio/entertainment system leaves a lot to be desired. The plastic interior is rather shabby looking. The fuel mileage is horrible for a small SUV.
