Awesome Car! Handles Great in Snow
I have had this vehicle for a little over one year now, and have gone through two snowy winters in Nebraska without any problems. I really love my Ford Explorer, because it is super comfortable, and has ample amounts of space for everything my family does. We take trips with our two dogs; a 140 pound Great Dane, and a 100 pound Lab with room to spare for anything we need to take along. I really enjoy the new look of the Ford Explorers. They are lower in profile than the previous models, and I think that this helps handling, but doesn't take away any of the storage. I chose a tan leather for the interior of my Explorer, and I think it looks fantastic. The interior has colored lights on the interior to help you see things when it is dark which is very helpful. Also included in the interior is the Ford Sync system which allows you to play music, or other controls from your voice. This is very helpful once you hook up to your phone because you can be less distracted while driving. Perhaps my favorite features of the car are the back up camera, and the blind spot removers in the mirrors. After owning a vehicle with these features, I don't think I can go back. The back up camera shows a clear picture of everything behind you, and beeps when it detects something in your back up radius. This has saved me a couple of times from hitting my trash cans. The one downside to this camera is probably that when it rains or snows the camera sometimes gets gunked up with dirt from the road and you have to clear it off. Gas mileage is a small downside to the vehicle as well, but I think it is expected on a larger SUV. Moving from a small car might cause some shock the first time filling up, but for it's size I think the Explorer gets pretty good mileage.
