A good Basic Car
I pretty much love this car. I bought it used after one year and it has held up to all the abuse I've heaped on it. I especially like that it is a flex fuel vehicle because I can change fuels according to price so that feature has gotten me through some hard times. It's very sturdy and well made. I currently have 180,000+ miles on it and it's still going strong. It does have to glaring problems. The transmission has been somewhat finicky from the beginning and the electrical system has a few glitches.

Some folks name their cars, and my Ford Taurus is named Fanny. When I bought her she had about 5,000 miles on her and now she's pushing 90,000. Fanny is the most reliable car I have driven. While I have worked in not-for-profit work Fanny has hauled huge loads of household goods hither and yon in city traffic and sink-hole marked side streets. She is roomy enough for three or four adult passengers but often has carried more. She feels sturdy, and performs smoothly month after month. When there were two adults driving her regularly she easily adjusted to our different sizes and styles. Lately I moved into a more rural area, where a half hour drive is off into two lane farmland. Fanny has transitioned well, hugging the road and smoothly taking curves at highway speeds. I am glad she has been my work companion this past decade and hope that everyone has such a sturdy support in their lives as well.
