I live in Colorado and this car is great for handling in the snow. I purchased it with a good set of snow tires, and once I switch into four-wheel drive I have never needed to worry about sliding off the road. I go off roading all the time to find the best rock climbing spots, and one time I was just driving in some soft sand and got stuck, but once I switched into four-wheel drive I was up and going in no-time. Although some people dislike cloth seats, I love the interior of my Jeep Compass. The cloth seats feel and appear to be of exceptional quality, and the sleek black interior matches very nicely with the red exterior. The center row has plenty of room to accompany passengers, and the trunk has lots of space for luggage. This is my first car and I am more than pleased. It is comfortable, looks sharp, and is a very reliable vehicle. I plan to keep it for ten years or more and look forward to having a family because the Jeep Compass has very high safety ratings.

Not my definition of Jeep.
The Jeep Compass fails to fill the bill for the normal conception of Jeep. The Compass is truly just another smallish SUV. For anyone interested in true 4 wheel off road driving, the Compass is modest at best, and is more suited to a suburban lifestyle where the sole purpose is to have a "Jeep" emblem to show the next door neighbor. The car offers little in the way on innovations and follows the mainstream accessories very closely. Backup camera, upgrade sound system, optional manual shift, leather seats, remote garage door operator, all state of the "norm" equipment. The finish construction was lacking with some poorer ceiling and skylight work. The interior was passable, but not eloquent. The price was reasonable for the car, about in the middle for its class. The overall design of the car is on the plain side, but sleekish and somewhat classy. The engine compartment is where this vehicle shines. The 2.4 liter engine upgrade gives this car serious pep. The 2.4 roars with that European sports car howl and makes beautiful noise through the gear cycle. It is a very tight and responsive engine in all gears and will not find yourself wanting for passing power, or quick acceleration. One luxury item which is unique to this car, is the drop down sound box speakers which fold down into an exterior direction. With the tail door open it makes for a great outdoor entertainment system at the beach, cookout, ballgame, etc. Final note, it is prefect for the "fringe" Jeepster, but not for the purest. It is a quality car, but not a quality Jeep.
