The 1984 Nissan 300ZX, Nissan's Fairlady
The 300ZX was the last hurrah in a long line of Nissan and Datsun designs. The embodiment of the '80s and its "sports car for the common man" slogan.
I bought my 1984 Z31 brand new, and after owning it for two weeks I knew I would never end up selling the car. Over its 32 year lifetime I've rebuilt the transmission and replaced many a water pump, starter, timing belt, and alternator. Most would count those as consumable parts, and rightly so. I've never had any major issue with the engine or drive train, and the vehicle has fantastic aftermarket support.
I've been driving this car daily in all seasons but winter.
The interior is what you'd expect from a 1980s sports car, nothing fancy, but definitely comfortable. Nowadays the youth like to tear out the innards and reupholster in leather with large bass-y speakers, but to each his own.

Fun and a Blast to Drive!
I bought my 300ZX in 2003 with 60000 miles. It was a nice scarlet red color and was relatively clean. There was a small rust blemish on the lift back but there was little else wrong with the body of the car. It was fun and sporty but a little heavy. I used to take it to the autocross and have a blast with the car. The only negative was that it was small and had no back seat. At the time that was fine because I was a college student with no significant other so I didn't really care. The motor ran strong but at around 75000 miles the transmission gave out. I replaced the transmission but the car was never the same.

A decent car for the price, but be wary of issues.
It's a pretty neat vehicle to have. I liked that it wasn't your typical 'car', but instead was unique. It has pop up headlights, which was pretty fun to flash at people. It performed pretty well for a few years, but it began having mechanical issues that no mechanics near me were able to diagnose due to the lack of old computer-reading tools. The build quality of the car was very solid. It's not made of plastic that will scuff or break off easily.
