Not worth the hassle
The 2001 Saturn SC2 was the introduction of Saturn's new brand of sport coupe sedans. Upon receiving this vehicle, I knew immediately that the style and comfort it provided was a clear mask for the issues that would soon come to light. Over the entire course of owning this car, I knew three things. First, the engine is a fickle creature. You never fail to find something wrong with it. There was a saying, when the check engine light finally turns off, then you know something bad happened. Second, the style was just a visage. The vehicle brought with it the question of, 'Why?' wherever you went. Specifically, the suicide door that was more trouble than style. And lastly, cheap! Parts were cheap, which made it more bearable, but the number of repairs caught up to regularly priced vehicles.

Best car I ever bought!
This is the best car I ever bought! I pondered deeply about what I wanted from a car before deciding on this one. I wanted something to depend on, something I could be proud to own, and a car that no one could mistake for their own. It has faithfully carried me through the ups and downs of my life with aplomb. Even after a couple of scrapes and one rear-end collision, it performs very well at all times. Even now, after 14 years, it drives quietly with most of its original parts.

good
I have owned and driven this car for the last 8 years. I bought it from a Saturn dealership as a certified pre-owned car. I have driven it all over the country, making 3000 mile trips twice with no breakdowns. I've never had to replace a major engine part, only minor repairs and maintenance. However, the interior is as cheap as it could possibly be and I have had problems with rain leaking into my car for almost the entire time that I've owned it, despite attempts to fix this problem. Everyone makes fun of my car because it “rains inside” but I've never had it break down on me. Piece of the inside have broken off, any kind of knob or button. The lights on the inside are out and the ceiling has been falling down for awhile now but that's most likely due to the rain that gets inside. I've also had to replace both window motors and half of my sunroof won't automatically close, I have to use a screwdriver to manually close it. I got this car for college because I knew I would be making the 100 mile trip home many times during school. This car has definitely served it's purpose but the interior was so cheaply made I can't imagine how much I would like this car if the interior held up as well as the engine has.
