1998 Chevrolet Blazer - Iffy Transmission
The 1998 Chevy Blazer is quite reliable for the most part but has it's own issues with a history of the transmission. Beyond that, it had served well in the northern states with the 4-wheel drive. Chevy quit manufacturing this model shortly thereafter but it was a nice ride while it lasted.
A Favor
The Chevy Blazer was a comfortable ride and somewhat stylish in it's time. The storage capacity was rather impressive with the back seats brought down. There was nothing to large to tow with the Blazer as a hitch was easily assembled and a boat could be in tow. A factory equipped stereo including DVD player boasts the entertainment department with the Blazer. The leather seats also made a comfortable ride although they wore in time.
En Contra
The major frustration with the vehicle is the transmission. Although I bought it with minimal miles driven, it already had a transmission re-built. I enjoyed the ride for a few years before it could go no further, hence the transmission needed replaced. It was a costly repair and the biggest disappointment was the rear end going out shortly thereafter. Although I can not fully blame the vehicle with the secondary issue, I can attest the mechanic who put the transmission in did not fully assemble the entire under carriage.
