Do your research.
I do not recommend the Chevy Cobalt, especially if it was built between 2006 and 2010. The car was built so poorly and has had almost a dozen recalls for various parts. The most notable recall was for the ignition switch to solve the problem of the car turning off while in drive. Despite routine maintenance, the car consistently does not perform well. The sleek looks and stylish interior do not make up for the poor construction.

Cobalt's low price and great reliability.
My Cobalt has been reliable since day one. I got it on a used car lot for about $10,000 in 2011. It had a few thousand miles on it. Almost perfect shape. I was 19 years old when I got that car. I still—to this day—use my Cobalt as my primary method of getting around town. It runs fantastically, the maintenance cost has been very low, and I spend no more than $30 on gas a week. It is a little bit small, but it is cozy not cramped. There is space where you want it and not where its unnecessary. It handles great, and it turns on a dime. I have never had problems with any of the automated features like the windows, headlights, and stock radio. The Cobalt is great if you have no need to haul things around town. It's got a smaller trunk, so you can't transport a lot of people and still have space. If you are by yourself and you need to transport things, the seats fold down easily and the back turns into a nice cargo area. Weather your an inner city driver or an Interstate driver, this car is sure to save you on gas and be there on the cold, winter mornings.
