2007 Chevrolet Impala - I love this car
This car was a little gem that I got on the heels of saying goodbye to my beloved Buick. It was the only car in my price ranged on the day that my old car died, and, although I spent some time shopping around, I just kept coming back to it. I needed (a) a car that I could drive around town, and (b) one that could comfortably get me half-way across the country to see my folks back East. The Chevy Impala does all of that and in style and comfort.
A Favor
The car is spacious without being overly-large, as every cubic foot of space is used to great effect. Similarly, the trunk holds so much, and I have large demands on storage! If it's just not quite enough, the rear seats fold down, allowing extra room from the cabin to be used for storage as well.
The handling is smooth and the engine just purrs. I make sure she gets regular tune-ups and, three years into owning this used vehicle, she runs just as well as she did when I first got her.
En Contra
Car maintenance is important to me, but many of the most commonly user-serviced areas of the car are hard to reach, such as the power steering fluid reservoir and the engine oil reservoir. The owner's manual is also less than helpful on this matter.
2015 Chevrolet Impala - Great "Tall People" Car
We identified the 2015 Impala because it is a large, fuel-efficient vehicle with enough cabin and trunk space to accommodate our tall family which travels extensively for basketball tournaments. Between luggage, game bags and other gear, space is essential. Thankfully, the Impala does not feel like a bus or limo while driving. It is roomy yet handles well, responds quite well in various conditions, and has added safety features such as blind spot monitoring.
Historia
For those who play travel sports and understand that cramped car spaces end up with contorted kids regardless of the seat they are trying to sleep in, check out this vehicle. My youngest son is 6'7" and can sleep comfortably in the front passenger seat - and still leave room for one of his brothers (also gigantic) to sleep directly behind him. All with no verbal assaults or brotherly around-... (more)
A Favor
Our family mostly enjoys the sheer cabin space of this car. We are all very tall - 6'3" to 6'8" - and the Impala offers enough head room, shoulder room, and leg room for even three of my sons to ride together in the back seat. In fact, the jostling (they're boys) is less than when we owned an SUV. Also, the trunk space is unbeatable! The pass-through storage is an added bonus. Another gold star: fuel economy - we average 28 mpg overall.
En Contra
We have owned this vehicle for six months, and the only negative we have found is the view out the back window. If you are over 6' tall, you won't notice a thing. For those a little shorter, the backup camera is a must.
