The vehicle I have is a 2002 Chevrolet Silverado Z71. The truck was purchased in 2005 and currently has roughly 160,000 miles on it. I wanted a four wheel drive Silverado to support my lifestyle, and because Silverados are all that my Dad has ever owned and lets face it, every little boy wants to be like their Dad when they look up to them. The truck is lifted considerably, and has led to a few cons which I will discuss later but for now my overall opinion is that it was an awesome purchase. The value of the truck has not diminished much, the paint has held up great, and while I have swapped out the rear axle for a larger unit, the stock axle is still going strong in another vehicle.

I like the fact that the bed is large enough for me to haul lawn care equipment or building materials. I like that I can pull a trailer with it for items that are too large to toss into the bed. I like the tough engine, which stands up well under abuse. I like the vinyl interior, as it is resistant to damage from spilling food or drink. I like the standard transmission on mine, as it is cheaper to have repaired if something goes wrong with it that an automatic transmission is. I like the fact that it takes gas instead of nasty smelling diesel. I like the longevity it has exhibited over the last 150,000 miles. I like the feel of it as the tires are rolling on the highway at fast speeds. A truly comfortable ride. The tires are inexpensive to replace, as the vehicle doesn't require an odd size of tire. More mechanics in my area can work on a Chevrolet pickup than can work on a Toyota pickup, so the Chevy brand itself is worth more to me that Toyota brand. Also, it seems to be cheaper to have a Chevrolet pickup repaired and maintained than a Toyota pickup, for example. Parts are easy to get when needed and are fairly inexpensive compared to parts for other makes of vehicles. My favorite truck out of the 3 I have owned, no doubt.
