I didn't like the styling or look of the Dodge Grand Caravan, however, it was very comfortable, and had ample room in the cabin and trunk. It has never produced noise until after 100,000 miles, when the power steering belt was slipping. At this point (150,000 miles), the brakes squeak slightly, and the shocks creak a lot. The blind spot is substantial so you must use the side mirrors frequently. It has been to the shop 4 or 5 times for a total cost of a bit over a thousand in parts and repairs. The gas mileage is getting to be less than mediocre, but it was very average for a minivan for most of its life. The Grand Caravan wasn't too fun to drive, being a minivan and all, but I can't complain about its braking. Acceleration, on the other hand, leaves a lot to be desired, along with the cumbersome handling. Overall, it seems to be pretty safe, as long as it is driven within its means.
