I like my Edge quite a lot. I downsized from a Ford Explorer, although I really don't miss the lost space too much. It's fairly fuel-efficient, averaging somewhere between 22-24 mpg total; this isn't bad for an SUV. Quality-wise, it's a well-built, well-designed car - the ergonomics are good, and the build quality is high. Performance-wise the car is very nice, with plenty of power and the aforementioned fuel efficiency. My greatest complaint, if I had to pick one, would be the sometimes cumbersome nature of the Ford Sync system. Navigating the menus and submenus can be irritatingly complex, and simple things like plugging in an MP3 player can be frustrating due to Sync having to index and re-index my songs (which can take a while with multiple GBs of music).
Historia
I took an 800-mile road trip a month after buying it. It was really fun to take a new car on a shakedown cruise, and I had a great time doing it.
A Favor
I like the responsiveness of the vehicle, as well as the looks of the Edge (both interior and exterior). It feels sporty and luxurious, especially with the leather trim. I do like the Sync when it works; a great plus is the Bluetooth tethering with my phone, so I can make phone calls on the road without having to struggle to hear the person on the other end over the road noise.
En Contra
The Ford Sync system is oftentimes cumbersome and counter-intuitive, as well as being aggravatingly slow at processes like device indexing. I wish that it would save or cache a previous index of the same device, so that I could plug it in and use it immediately.
