The Ford Escape was (still is) my first SUV. I do like how pretty compact it is compared to other SUVs. I'm on the shorter side in height, so this was great. It's pretty stylish and has a unique body style. You can definitely point out the Ford Escape from a mile away. Another added bonus is that it's pretty great on gas mileage. I get about 350 miles from a full tank of gas. One downfall if you have children is that it does not comfortably fit three car seats in the back. We've tried multiple brands and styles and finally got one way to work, but it cracked the door handle. I do like the size of the trunk though. We managed to fit one single and one double stroller pretty easily. I also like how well the interior has held up, and it's also easy to clean. And, of course, my favorite part is the key pad on the door. You can change the code, and it allows for keyless entry. I doubt I'd ever buy another car without it!

The 2016 Escape feels like a much larger vehicle than it is. The ride is firm but smooth. The Sync 3 system is a huge improvement over the previous version. I have about 2k miles on mine, and so far, there have been no problems. I have the AWD with the 1.6 L Turbo engine. Even with the turbo, acceleration is lacking. I would recommend looking at the 2.0 L options if this is important to you. MPG has been averaging 25-27. Other than the poor acceleration, this is a great car.
