We bought the 2012 Ford Focus for approximately 8k. It was in perfect condition, electric start, several speakers, and a hatchback. It ran smoothly, got great gas mileage, and has survived a crash with no problem.

This four-door sedan is an excellent family car. The trunk is generous, and the back seats fold down to allow for more and versatile storage. This model has power drivers seat and heated seats, which have been a lifesaver in the winter. The seats are comfortable, and the dash layout intuitive and easy-to-read. It also has a little perk of LED trim lighting, which has a color you can change at will. Satellite radio and the SYNC Bluetooth connection allow for voice calls and auxiliary audio through the car speakers. Ford regularly makes SYNC firmware updates for this model, as well. My model has a sunroof which has performed well and without leaks. This model has a recall on the airbags, so make sure it has seen a dealer in the last two years for that update. For a four cylinder, the engine has some get-up-and-go. Minimal repairs have been needed in my seven years of ownership with regular maintenance, and I'm currently at over 110k miles. Repairs that have been needed were on odd things and started early in ownership. The windshield wiper fluid tube came unhooked from the hood and refuses to stay glued, squirting fluid all over the engine instead. Two rows of the rear windshield defrost stopped working.
