Driving in Hartford can be a bit confusing for a newcomer. There are a lot of curves and roundabouts, and the city isn't laid out on a grid like NYC and other large cities are. When learning the city - take your time. Enjoy looking around at the sights and the buildings, and discovering all of the different ways you can go to reach the same place.

There are a lot of auto dealers all around the city of Hartford. Craigslist is also a very popular way for people to sell their used cars in the city. When purchasing a car in Hartford, you might want to seriously consider hybrid or something else which gives good mileage, as there can be a lot of stop and go traffic.

Every year, I attend a music festival located in Hartford, during the summer. It's always fun to come up through downtown Hartford and watch the buildings grow up around me, then come around to the arena for some great music and great people.

Savitt Way. Savitt Way is a long road upon which many things are located - the most important of which is the XFINITY Theater, the areas premiere spot for music and music festivals. On days when there is a show, there are always friendly people offering parking places, and interesting people moving about and entertaining the event-goers.

I would say that it's important to know the major highways, as well as map out your route before you go. When you get into downtown Hartford, the exits appear on both sides and in the middle, and exits are often exit only. You can quickly find yourself lost and stuck in downtown Hartford if you are not prepared.

Enfield is a pretty good area for cars. There are several dealers on one road (Palomba Drive) so you can shop around and many are owned by the same company (Lia), which means you don't have to worry about going through the paperwork multiple times. It's also much easier to navigate and is only about 20-30 minutes north on the main highway.

I strongly dislike driving, so I don't have positive driving experiences. I do like road trips, but only as a passenger. I enjoy the long trips with nowhere to be because I don't worry about time and I don't care if there is traffic. I also like being aware of new places and seeing things I have not seen before.

None. Again, I really don't like driving. In addition, Connecticut is basically all back roads, suburban streets, and two highways. It is not a great driving city or state. Of course, I don't enjoy driving. It's pretty outside the cities, but the traffic is often congested, too.
