Paint issues on black Honda Accords.
Purchased my 2002 Honda Accord brand new. We loved our car and have maintained all suggested maintenance. About five years ago the clear coat started coming off. It started on the hood and now, five years later it has spread to the top, and upper parts of the doors. When I contacted my Honda dealership I was told it was a known issue, but not covered under warranty or under a recall. I have noticed two identical vehicles in our town that look exactly the same. Honda wanted estimated 6k to totally redo it. The car is long paid off and our second car. I only drive it on occasion. I will not buy anymore Hondas because of this problem and their refusal to make it right.

The dealers were very helpful, not pushy, and willing to work with me as far as price goes. Nice selection of affordable cars and they were all clean and in good shape. The deal was very honest about the car's history and condition and when we went for a test drive he explained what they had recently fixed. The experience was generally pain free which is important because I hate car shopping. The fact that it's a local dealer helps too because they have a relationship with the community.
