After 15+ years, the car is completely rusted though—underneath the chassis and frame. Half the muffler rotted off and failed safety tests in 2015. It had to be replaced, after which it fell of 3x times due to poor bond with the rusted metal they connected it to. They do not use quality metals in the manufacturing of these Civics from this era (2000).

I really like the car, overall. There are, of course, pros and cons of the vehicle, but overall this is a car I would recommend to others. One of the things that I love about it and is a big deal to me is the safety ratings. The Honda Civic has good safety ratings, which is important to me, as I drive with kids in my car. I love the digital dashboard, and the ability to watch my gas mileage average as it goes up and down. It motivates me to be aware of how I'm driving so that I can get the most miles for my money! The rearview camera and screen is amazing. I don't know how I used to drive without one! It gives me such peace of mind to be able to look behind me, and then confirm that the way is clear as I'm backing out by looking at that screen. I also love how much easier parallel parking is with that feature. The car doesn't accelerate as quickly as I would like. Sometimes as I'm entering a freeway or highway, it feels like the car is struggling to accelerate. I'm by no means a speed demon, but I hate having other cars tailing me from behind because I can't speed up well. I love the amount of space in the trunk. For the size of the car, I feel that it's quite spacious.
