Nice car.
The car in question is a Hyundai Sonata SE V6 2009. I bought this car used. One previous owner and I have enjoyed driving it for about eight years now. It is a good quality car that has stood the test of time with only one major fix. The big fix was that the gas tank needed replacing, as there was some corrosion between the gas tank nozzle and main tank, and a gasoline fume smell was entering the car. Besides that, it has run and performed well and been comfortable to drive. The car I own is black and has a mix of leather and upholstered seats, which I feel is a bit unique compared to other cars. Because of its age, it doesn't have all the bells and whistles of new cars with GPS, maps and internet widgets; but if you need a good solid car and none of the fluff, then this car hits the button. I use the car for work and pleasure. The back seats easily fit two child car seats comfortably; and when I don't have the kids in the car, I can fit plenty of music equipment in the car trunk and back seats when travelling around for gigs. A pro is that it takes 87 octane gas; but unfortunately compared to more modern cars, the con is the gas mileage. On average, the gas mileage can be any where between 20 and 26 miles per gallon.

Hyundai Sonata, best car I've ever owned
Our Sonata, nicknamed The Purple Plum, has taken us across the country four times, up mountains, across desserts, over rough roads and smooth for over 200K miles. It is still going. There is no doubt this car was built to last. The body is made strong. It takes the occasional dink and bump in stride. The paint adheres well even after a dozen years of ownership. A good coat of wax and she looks almost new. One of my favorite things about the Sonata is the powerful engine. She has enough get up and go to pass cars in even short distances. To top that, the automatic shift has a manual 4th and 5th gear option to really kickstart the car's burst of speed. Speaking of engines, its 3.3 liter size is enough to pull a full trailer even up steep inclines. As for the interior, it has high-quality fabric seats, rugs that take a lot of wear and tear and the seats are as firm as the day I bought the car. The radio/CD player's sound is exceptional. It has great sound quality throughout the car at the low and high volumes. There are also multiple USB ports, two in the front, one in the trunk, to charge your electronics. Overall, this car holds its value like few others. If you want a practical car that lasts, I can't recommend the Hyundai Sonata highly enough.

The process of buying the car was very easy. However, looking back at my decision, I should have shopped around more because there were better deals around town. They were just very friendly and inviting so I did not feel the need to shop around, and I needed a car ASAP. The next issue I have is the repair cost, warranties, and service department are a pain to deal with. I spoke to the service manager numerous times about my GPS dashboard unit system not working properly and they replaced it two times with a "floating unit' which is actually a refurbished used unit. Third time around, after the replacements were worse off than the initial unit, they advised me I would have to wait to hear from corporate to have a special technician come and check out my system to diagnose the problem. I asked several times for a new unit and they repeatedly told me that was not in the warranty and they will only install with their floater units. If I wanted a new unit I would have to pay $1,200 for it. That is absolutely ridiculous considering it was a factory issue. I won't be returning to their service department and I would suggest Clarksville Antwerpen if you're willing to make a few more minutes drive for excellent service. They are much friendlier, helpful, and a bit smaller so appointment availability is more open and service is faster.
