I have had this car now for 6 years and it served me well. We upgraded from a Hyundai Accent when we purchased it because I was getting ready to have my second child. Initially we were drawn by the 50,000 mile bumper to bumper warranty, as well as the 100,00 mile power train warranty. We wanted something a bit roomier, with a high safety rating. We were able to fit two car seats in with ease. However, now that the kids are older and have friends, it is a bit of a challenge to fit three booster seats across the back. The Hyundai Tucson fit the bill for sure. I liked the crossover/ compact SUV styling. Pick-up and go left us a little bit wanting but that was also because we opted for the 4 cylinder model. The nice trade off to that was better gas mileage and less trauma at the pump. It handles well in the snow, and I have managed to avoid several accidents because of it's responsiveness and braking capabilities. Maintenance costs have varied. In general, the car made very few trips to the shop because it has not had any major issues. However, the cost of the 25,000, 50,000, and 75,000 scheduled maintenance was VERY expensive. Some of this was dealer specific though calling around to different dealers revealed vastly differing prices for the same service.

The only thing I dislike about my car is that it is not quite as big as my mini van. However, it does the job and runs and drives great.
