Used Jeep Cherokee for Sale in Cedar Rapids, IA

The vehicle is a 2001 Jeep Cherokee Sport. As most would expect from a Jeep, this is a solid and reliable vehicle. Its 4x4 system seems to be a tried and true flavor that works even when others might fail. The 4x4 system is lever-actuated and can be done while the vehicle is in motion. The suspension and remaining ride components all tend to feel more car-like than truck. A real positive for this one. The engine is an inline 6- which is unusual for this style of vehicle offered by other makers. 4.0 Liters give plenty of punch and pull from this mid-sized motor. On the downside, the motor originally gets fairly poor gas mileage. After year of use, it is significantly lower then original. I'd have to say that gas mileage is the single worst component of this Jeep. Currently it is getting about 10 city and 13 - 17 highway. Awful. That's worse than a modern Hummer (boo......) Space is also a bit of a disappointment. 4 Adults can fit OK, but is you need to put a car seat in there, plan to get cramped quick. The rest of the interior space is average and functional. One stand-out point about this jeep is that it gets from a to b even with several thousand dollars of work needing to be done, including transfer case issues. Overall, I'd give this about 3.5 Out of 5 stars
