Jeep Patriot 4X4 for the entire family!!
First off, let me tell you about this car. The Jeep Patriot LTD is one of the best cars I have ever owned. Some of the items that I look for in a car when I am going to make a purchase are the following: Is the car good on gas? Will I be able to afford the payment and insurance and not the gas? Well let me tell you the Jeep Patriot LTD 4x4 is great on gas. It's like you are driving a Honda Accord but more spacious. This car is four cylinder, and with a 2.4 motor and double transmission, it is both economic and fun to drive. You can go from work to the beach with no issues, and the best part is you won't break the bank when you fill up at the gas pumps. This is a family car; it's an SUV with a classy style. I didn't think I would like it very much at first, but when I first sat in it to test drive on Halloween night, I knew that I would love driving this car. Smooth driving and room for the entire family and the dogs. However, if you are looking at something that you can load household goods into and move large items, you are better off buying a pickup truck. While the rear seats do fold down, anything over a certain height or width, you can not fit it because the hatchback has rounded corners making it smaller than what it looks like. However, if you are not worried about making multiple trips, if need be, then it can handle small boxes pretty well. Another disappointing factor with this car is even though it came with a DVD and maintenance manual, the manual is very poorly written, and you cannot find anything on this year for troubleshooting online. Really how many people still have a DVD player? Most use Netflix or Hulu nowadays. Disappointing when you have a lighted picture come up and don't know how to fix it and no mechanic does either. Two additional issues I noticed is how many filters does a car need. This thing has like four air filters, and one of them you have to go through the dashboard to get to it. The other is the low tire that comes on when you have a low or flat tire. The thing, even though you have reset it, still continues to show. Even after driving so many miles, still there. However, even with those cons, the pros still outweigh my decision to purchase this vehicle. I have been happy since day one with it and would recommend to all my friends. Side note, my boss bought the same year just different color after recommendation from me.

It gets the job done but a bit glitchy.
This particular Jeep Patriot is a 2009, with 4 wheel drive. Features include CD player, electronic stability assist, air conditioning, manual windows and locks and automatic transmission. The cream white paint job has suffered a bit over the years, showing a bit of rust along the lower interior door panels as well as the front and rear bumpers. While noticeable it has not spread to the point of making the vehicle excessively unsightly. Fuel economy remains solid even after almost 100k miles, ranging around 25 mpg. The interior is roomy enough provided one isn't too tall (like I am). Those over six and a half feet in height will experience a shortage of knee room but it is still manageable and something you get used to. The suspension is fairly smooth, handling is responsive and acceleration is ample. The 4 cylinder engine does NOT like mountain driving and the labored whining of the transmission becomes grating during long drives over mountain highways. Other minor issues include glitchy sensors which insist that the ABS system is having issues in spite of the fact it has been examined by no less than 3 mechanics who have assured me there is no issue. The same can be said of the check engine light.
