Kia Rio
Purchased the car for my daughter. It is standard, no power window but does have AC. This car has performed very well with little problems during the warranty stage, only once into the dealership for a water pump. I have maintained it through the KIA dealership and know has 95,000 miles on it with no major issue. The one problem is 5th gear is too small for Texas Highways the RPMs are too high at 85 mile per hour speed limit pushing up around 5 rpm. At these speeds the car begins to feel a little unsafe. The cars gas mileage has always been great and has maintained the same MPG over the life of the car. It is a really good commuter car for a high school or college student. The downside to having no power locks on a car is people are not used to this anymore and your vehicle is often times left unlocked or even worse you lock your keys in the vehicle.

My Kia Is The Perfect Keys Cruiser
First off I want to say I love the fact that I can fill my gas tank with $25. I am able to get so much more accomplished due to this car's amazing gas mileage. Although I purchased this vehicle used, I feel as if it runs like new. It is vary clear to see that the previous owner kept up with the maintenance for the car. The model that I have is standard so there is no power windows or doors but the A/C is awesome. I rely heavily on the A/C system now that I'm living in the keys during the summer season. The trunk provides the perfect amount of space for my daily needs, and the interior is also well sized.

Fantastic Fuel Efficient Grocery Getter
The 2004 Kia Rio may not be the most stylish vehicle on the market, and it may be lacking in some creature comforts, but overall it is a fantastic vehicle for getting around town. I had the absolute base model, meaning manual steering, manual windows, manual transmission, and no AC. The way I figured it when I got the vehicle was the less there was on it, the more reliable it would be, and I was right. In nearly a decade I've had to do nothing more than routine maintenance and brakes. With fuel mileage approaching 40 MPG it exceeds even some of the larger hybrids and while it is considered a subcompact, there is ample trunk room to transport normal purchases. Manual steering can be a pain when parallel parking, but it also increases the fuel mileage and reduces the incidence of breakdown by removing the power steering pump and lines and improves high speed responsiveness. On the highway the vehicle has surprising power which makes for easy merging. Since the newer Kias are no longer available without some of these options, I am trying to make this one last for a very long time and would consider doing major repairs if needed in order to avoid buying a newer car with different options. Overall this is my favorite vehicle that I have owned.
