I was very excited to own this car, but it has given us nothing but issues since we bought it. Several months after purchasing, our engine was recalled and had to be completely replaced, leaving us with a rental vehicle for a week. The rental was nicer than the Soul. Then we found out that the mileage estimation was off, and now we have to take our car in every year or so the mileage can be checked and we are sent a reimbursement prepaid card. Now there is a grinding sound when we start it, and the Kia dealership cannot figure out what is causing it. Lastly, in the last few weeks, the car has been struggling at intervals to accelerate. When it starts up, it hesitates, and you have to shut it off and restart or it refuses to accelerate on the open road. It's a major hazard.

I liked the value for the car. Everything that was included at a reasonable price. Accessories such as speaker lighting failed within two years.
