1993 Lincoln Mark VIII - I love this car.
The build quality is amazing. It currently has over 160,000 miles and there are no rattles, no issues whatsoever. Also, the vehicle hasn't required any major repairs other than general maintenance! The interior is of high quality and has held up almost perfectly so far other than slight wear showing on the leather seats and minor wear on the dash buttons. This car has a lot of power while still getting decent gas mileage. If you have a family, it isn't very practical. If you don't have a family, it is very comfortable and half practical. The styling is very nice, modern for it's age. This has been one of the most reliable vehicles I've owned, and I've owned many different vehicles. If you're into music, it has a very good sound system in it and with a box of subs in the trunk, you can'... (more)

Me and my fiancé' go cruising in this car all the time out in the country. It's great because it's comfortable for long drives, and the sound system is amazing to just cruise around and listen to tunes. Also, you have enough trunk space to fit picnic materials and much more.

The best part about the car is despite it's age, it has a lot of the features that some newer cars don't have yet. Such as Digital Climate control; You set the temp, it does the rest. Full systems monitoring; You never need to pay attention to miles, it will tell you when an oil change is needed, as well as it let's you know the status of most other systems (Coolant Level, Engine Temp, Voltage, Washer Fluid level, etc..). My other favorite feature has to be the power. Even though it has over 160,000 miles, it is still running strong and as powerful as ever.

Bad in winter. The traction assist helps a little bit, but with the light rear end it tends to get stuck or spin very easily with the powerful drive train. Also, if you live in a state that uses salt, it eats up the rocker panels and underneath really bad.

1997 Lincoln Mark VIII - Fat mans car
I purchased my silver 1997 used Mark in 2014. It had 144,000 mi. I have run the dickens out of it and she has taken the punishment with ladylike understanding. She is a beauty today in as much as it was the day it was made. The 4.6 DOHC runs like a scalded dog. The tranny was a bit slushy at first, but I put in a shift kit and now she'll squeal the tires between 1st to 2nd shifts. I destroyed the first engine and replaced it at my expense at 108Kmi. The new engine is even stronger than the first, maybe overbored a bit??? This car says luxury from the git-go, and it says successful, fast, and a bit dangerous male or female inside. My wife also loves it and the heated seats. My most favorite feature is the timeless body design. My silver Mark with the red LCD tail lamps across the back l... (more)

I have had many strangers compliment me on this automobile. She's a looker and VERY quick, hunkers down nice and stable at 55 and doesn't look back.

Neon tail light, "power dome" hood, HID headlamps, wrap around dash (makes you feel as if the car is embracing you.)The rated fuel economy must be average city and highway. When I put it on cruise control at 45mph on the long stretch between Gulf Breeze and Ft. Walton the instant mpg was touching 40mpg. Cruising at ~70 on the highway usually gets me around 27mpg, lately, and the engine is barely ticking over 2000rpm to do so. I prefer my old 93 to my 97, though, it seemed to be assembled with a higher standard. It has the original air suspension, in very good condition. No air leaks. The p... (more)

S limited slip diff, tighter tranny, computer default to non-traction control. Lot of little annoying things have broken: low beams, door handle, sun visor clip, cup clip, power window button tops, steering wheel adjust button, motor mounts, driver seat, one belt latch, etc. Expensive to repair. Too late for that. Would be nice to see them actually continue the Mark (Hot Rod Lincoln) series instead of profaning it with SUVs and Saloon cars. Cup holders no good! Charge less money for replacement parts, like head light bulb,($246 for each dim bulb) Yikes! Back seat sucks, but as long as you ... (more)

A little older and hard to find one with low enough miles because they do not run forever like a Toyota or Honda. Common problems with some features (auto adjusting suspension, heater control). At 10 years old car started to show age. There really isn't too much that is bad on this car, hard to put in words, but the con is it really is a great fat man's ride...
1993 Lincoln Mark VIII - Decent
A white Lincoln Mark VIII. The car started off performing well and went down hill rather quickly. I had several problems within a few months of buying the car. I had to replace the alternator and redo the brakes. While I did buy the car used, the brakes were only a few months old. The car also has issues starting when it's cold, despite having a new battery. The car is, however, a smooth ride and handles bumpy roads with easy while being better on gas than I expected, considering the size of the car. My biggest complaint is the price of the parts compared to other vehicles of a similar year, and the parts can be difficult to find.

Going on a picnic with my fiancé and finding the river near the picnic area had flooded and washed everything away. So we parked across from it and ate in the car.

My favorite features would have to be the fact that the car has plenty of leg room and being a taller person, I don't feel cramped driving it. I also like that the car has plenty of trunk space.

It does not get very good gas mileage.
