Powering this 840ci is its original 4.0L V8 engine, paired with a smooth-shifting 5-speed automatic transmission. This BMW comes with plenty of nice features and upgrades, such as; drilled and slotted rotors, hawk brake pads, upgraded front and rear sway bars, newer updated radio with Bluetooth, new alternator, Niche wheels (18x8 front, 18x9.5 rear), power seats, automatic temperature control, ice cold A/C, and more. The first used the 4.0-liter M60B40 V8 engine having a power output of 210 kW (282 hp) and was produced from mid-1993 to late 1995. From mid-1995, production phased in the newer 4.4-liter M62B44 V8 engine, which had better fuel economy and more torque, though power output remained unchanged. The 840Ci was available with a 5-speed automatic transmission, though European cars were given the option of a 6-speed manual transmission. The only external features distinguishing the V8 model from the V12 models were the quad round exhausts, which were square in the V12 models. The 840Ci stayed in production until May 1999.
