This is an amazing vehicle that fits the needs of my 5 person family (2 parent, 3 children) perfectly. The trunk is a little small, but the seat in the back splits down the middle, so we can lay one seat down for extra room and still have room for all 3 kids. Gas mileage is >30mpg. One minor complaint would be engine size. It is only a 4 cylinder and does not accelerate quickly. But this is a minor concern compared to all the advantages of the vehicle. I also am not a fan of the climate control system. Even when you set a specific temperature to shut off at, it doesn't shut off. Also, there is only one climate control system for the whole car, and the rear climate control only has one blower and that blower only has one speed. Again, this is not a major inconvenience. Historia
We decided to tour the state parks of Wisconsin this summer. We drove hundreds of miles, hiked dozens more and took in so much beautiful scenery. The car performed perfectly, with great gas mileage and no mechanical or performance issues.
A Favor
Awesome gas mileage. 3rd row seating. Looks great. Back seat splits in middle. Owned 2 years, no repairs needed.
En Contra
Small trunk. Sits low to ground. Only a 4 cylinder engine. Rear climate control only has one blower. No longer in production, so hard to find.

I purchased the Mazda5 several years ago, and it's been a good, running-around-town car. Plenty of space for hauling small furniture items, more groceries than you can buy in a single trip and even lumber for projects. Sadly, it's not quite big enough to haul 4x8 sheets though. Lots of leg room in the second row of seats, but the third row is a little cramped. Overall, I like it, and it gets me around comfortably for a job that I log 250+ miles every week.
Historia
Taking it on an 1,800-mile road trip and camping out of the back. Lots of room to stay relatively comfortable while spending a lot of time sitting and watching the miles fly by.
A Favor
Great cargo space. Comfortable, unless you're in the third row. Pretty decent stock stereo.
En Contra
Dropped the transmission at 125K, which is common for this model.
