Good Commuter Car
I purchased this car two years ago, after getting into a car accident that totaled my previous car. I commute 25 miles to work on the freeway everyday. The Nissan Sentra does a good job of getting 30+ mpg consistently. I usually have about 400 miles on a tank before I need to fill it up, which I like a lot. I usually wind up getting gas every other week. The inside of the car is clean and simple- mine has grey cloth seats and a black dash. The back seats fold down to allow extended storage from the trunk. I've used this feature to carry 8 foot wooden studs or my weedwacker, and it's very helpful for my small yard projects. It has power windows, a cd player, and an audio plug in. I regularly connect my phone the car's stereo system to listen to music during my commute. One of the weird things about the car is it has an old style iPod adapter in the storage compartment by the emergency brake- something which seemed like a waste of time to have in this car based on how quickly technology for music players and cell phones changes. I would have rather seen a usb charging port. The car is not tight or cramped, like the Nissan Versa is. I find the ride to be pretty comfortable. I'm also able to change my own oil, so that's a bonus as well. Overall, I really enjoy this car and it has served me well.

Decent for the price.
The Nissan Sentra is a relatively cheap and reliable vehicle. Although not as widely available as they were a few years ago, they can often be found in running condition for anywhere from $1,000 - $2,000, which for a used vehicle that runs is a very good bargain. Although I now live in the city and rarely drive anywhere, when it was used more frequently it was an extremely reliable vehicle for me. It even seemed to possess reasonable fuel economy based on the distances I was driving and the type of transit I was using it for (longer distance highway driving vs. short distance multi-stop town driving). All that being said, I do know that there are a number of issues these cars can have depending on their current mileage, ranging from transmission problems to severe engine problems. The most common issues is the head gaskets will often break or blow out, resulting in hefty fees to fix the vehicle that would often exceed the value of the purchased car. My Sentra has had a couple strange issues that may be indicative of this issue, but for the price I feel as though the 2-3 years of often use I got out of it, that even if it breaks down and I decide to get rid of it I will still have gotten a good value for my money.
