I bought this Smart car a couple of years ago when I needed a reliable work car. Yes, it is small, but I have never felt unsafe while driving it. Further, while the Smart car is approximately as long as a regular-sized car is wide, it is surprisingly spacious inside. I enjoy the sunroof on sunny days, and I really like the sound system as it is, straight from the manufacturer. The car handles really well, and has a neat dual manual/automatic transmission. The gas mileage that I enjoy is 33 in the city and 41 on the highway, using an 8.7 gallon gas tank. And, depending on the current price of gas/gallon, a fill-up rarely ever costs me more than $24.00. Another plus, is that, although this car has noticeable, albeit slight, lag when switching gears, it can handle 80+ miles per hour really well without the slightest tremor of the steering wheel. When I first purchased the Smart car, I thought that I would feel blown off the road by strong lateral winds or passing 18-wheelers or semi trucks, but shockingly, I very rarely ever feel the lateral pressure of large vehicles passing me while on the interstate. Which brings me to my final, and only, point regarding what I dislike about the Smart car: The only thing I do not like about the Smart car is being in a lane between two 18-wheelers. But, this is only a comfort thing. I simply do not care to be in such a small vehicle while moving in tandem between two transfer trucks. Driven by road weary people guzzling espresso and popping NoDoz.

Great gas mileage.
The car is a great choice for commuters. While only a 2 seater, it is otherwise a standard sized vehicle. A tank of gas lasts about 10 days while commuting 40 miles to and from work 5 days a week, and only costs about $20 to fill up.
