2012 Subaru Impreza - Great and reliable.
This car is really good. I really enjoy it. I enjoy how low maintenance the car is and how high the gas mileage is. Also it has a surprising amount of power for a little sedan. I also liked how it has all wheel drive, this makes driving in all weather really nice. It also has really high safety ratings which is important to me. But I don't like how low slung the car is, it is constantly hitting on curbs and dips and the bumper is detaching as a result. Also the lights are really hard to fix.
Historia
When I went to Colorado there were like nothing but Subarus, they are incredibly popular there and it was quite funny to see so many.
A Favor
The gas mileage on this car is really high. The car also has really nice and spacious amounts of room for a sedan in the interior. The car is super low maintenance and really reliable and will probably run for another one hundred thousand miles which is awesome. The engine runs really quietly and has a lot of kick for only being a v4. I have to say the car is also very elegantly shaped and makes it look quite nice.
En Contra
I do not like the low slung nature of the car. This causes the bumper to knock on the ground frequently and then the bumper is irritatingly messed up and detaching from the car. The car engine is also a box engine like all Subarus. The headlights are very hard to fix.
2002 Subaru Impreza -
I purchased this car used several years ago, as I was making a move up north and wanted something more reliable and better suited to icy roads. It has racked up the mileage and held up fairly well. It has had to have some significant work over the past few years but not necessarily more than should be expected at the mileage level.
Historia
This car has travelled many miles with me across the country, and then I had a job that took me driving many miles around southern Wisconsin. We've explored many different new streets and listened to lots of good music together.
A Favor
The car is easy to drive and manage. The four-wheel drive is very helpful on icy roads. I also felt that the car had good visibility from the driver's seat. It has a somewhat "sportsy" feel and appearance to it but doesn't stand out too much. This works well for me, since I am just as happy for my car to be a little anonymous and not stand out too much when parked on a city street. The trunk is very roomy, which can be a big plus.
En Contra
This car has had constant ongoing trouble with the air conditioner—it has had major expensive repairs three or four times over the past four years. Also, I consistently had trouble setting the driver's seat in a comfortable position. It got scratched at one point and the touch-up paint the dealership recommended did the job but did not quite match.
