I've had this car for 7 years, it is 23 years old, and is still running almost perfectly. I received the car with 56,000 and have since doubled the mileage, we're at 130,000 or so, and it is still going strong. The interior of my Subaru is not original, leather interior was put in after purchase, and it still holds up after 20+ years and keeps the car smelling decent. The car feels very safe and secure, it drives smoothly still after all these years. The only thing I dislike is that it is difficult to keep up with the speed of traffic while going up a hill for example.

The Subaru Legacy is one of the best cars that I have owned. There are many reasons for this. First, its dependability can't be beaten. This car has literally survived through everything and still runs like a charm. When it was over 20 years old, it made a cross-country trip that no one believed it could do. I'm telling you, this car is a trooper and a half. Second, this car has amazing gas mileage. Unlike a lot of cars on the market these days, the Legacy can get you from A to B without putting a dent in your pocket book. Third, this car saves you money in more ways than just gas efficiency. I have never once had to have anything internally fixed on this car. Ever. This is no exaggeration. Of course, I have dented the vehicle over the years, as I am no perfect driver, but the car has never failed me. Because of this vehicle, I will be a lifelong Subaru consumer. Subaru is such a loyal and trustworthy brand that I am honestly surprised when people don't shop through them. Huge mistake not to, in my opinion.
