2001 Toyota Corolla - Toyota Review
I have owned my 2001 Toyota for 3 years now. The car has been in my family for about 7 years. I purchased the car from my father and have had good run with it so far. It is a 5 speed manual transmission with a 2.2L engine. The car being almost an antique at this point has about 185,000 miles on it. I have had to spend more money to fix the car then I would have liked, but it's to be expected with an older vehicle.
Historia
When I bought the car I put some work into it to get it on the road. My investments have paid off and I enjoy driving the car as my daily driver.
A Favor
I enjoy driving the car, the handling, and the manual transmission. The car is easy to fix for basic repairs and maintenance as well as parts are very easy to find.
En Contra
I recently had to install two new catalytic converters, a job that without the right tools I had to take to the shop which cost me quite a but of money. Parts cost almost as much as the car was worth. The car now being fixed should hopefully last me a few more years.
2008 Toyota Corolla - Great first car
Great gas mileage, structurally sound, typical "Toyota lasts forever" attitude. Currently has 180,000 miles and still has thousands left before I consider replacing it.
Historia
Drove 315 miles on one tank of gas once. Drove from Maine to Georgia in two days. Sweltering heat with windows down, blasting music.
A Favor
My car got 35 MPG on highway. Even after hitting a few things, it still drove perfectly fine. Even after ten years of ownership and almost 200,000 miles, it still drives great. Very comfortable and spacious. Very safe.
En Contra
Hard to clean, ugly fake wood interior, sometimes shakes at 75 mph, and not as speedy as it used to be. A/C didn't work all the way, and the car got hot in the summer.
