The Prius consistently gets wonderful gas mileage whether I am in the city or driving on the interstate. I commute 90 miles a day to work, so I have put over 60,000 miles on the car in a few short years and it drives as well now as the day I pulled out of the parking lot with it. I love the rear backup camera and how "smart" the car is. It comes equipped with GPS, multiple car chargers, and fancy cup holders. I didn't think I needed all of those things until I finally had them on the Prius. I find the air system ideal, it doesn't take long to get the car to temperature (whether it's heat or air conditioning). I find the Prius to be more stylish than other hybrid cars and very quiet to drive. It's perfect for sneaking up on teenagers and honking the horn to scare them half to death.

While the Prius may seem like a smart and money-saving buy at first, it is quite the opposite over time. The gas mileage is fantastic. It's extremely quiet. But these pale in comparison to the enormous prices that you have no idea about until it happens. One day, the electric battery in my car just suddenly died, without any sort of warning, leaving me stranded until I could get a tow. Then, come to find out that since it is a proprietary piece of equipment, it would have to be ordered brand new and could not be serviced whatsoever, costing another $4,000 on top of the car itself. That was by far more than I had saved on gas or anything up until that point, and beyond. The life expectancy on the battery I had was only about 10 years. Meaning, every 10 years you would need to drop another four grand. Terrible choice!
