2004 Toyota Prius - 2004 Toyota Prius
Purchased a used '04 Prius with a salvage title, and I couldn't be happier. The price was right ($7,000), it has good gas mileage, and it has some good features that other cars don't have. There are, however, a few downsides. I will explain both the pros and cons below.
Historia
I was driving to my parent's new house out in the foothills, and I hit a patch of dead air (no cell service) and lost my phone navigation. I was able to pull over and put it in the onboard navigation and get back to the trip!
A Favor
The top pro is the gas mileage; I don't drive conservatively, and I put about 150 miles a week. I spend $60 on gas a month, and I get about 45 miles to the gallon. The other pros are the navigation features, keyless entry, Bose sound, and interior storage. For $7,000, these features would be impossible to find in a new car.
En Contra
The major con is the low power of a the Prius. It can get me to work and back, and even to the bay, but if I wanted to drive up in the mountains, prepare to be passed and harassed (for driving so slow). With a 1.5L engine, the little thing just can't take hills.
2013 Toyota Prius - Good ride. Saves me money.
I have about 45,000 miles on my Prius so it has a lot of life left for its age. I like that it saves me money on gas. I like that it has a spacious interior. I love the dashboard setup. Having the main dash items sitting up high means my eyes have only to look down slightly for information.
Performance is good -- especially since there is a power button for going up hills, and needing to do a fast start. (This requires going into gas mode, but still a good feature.)
What I don't like about it is the driver's field of view can be somewhat awkward. Also the ride is not super smooth when on bad roads -- and the roads these days seem to be getting worse.
Historia
Where I live, a large percentage of the population drives a Prius. Some people have decorated theirs in quite funny ways -- somewhat like the way people used to do with the VW Bug way back when. I haven't partaken in this practice myself, but it does bring a smile to my face when I see the various bow-ties, flowers, magnetic stickers, and other cosplay attire that people display on theirs.
A Favor
The Eco feature. If I'm stuck in traffic I know I'm not guzzling gas. For a small car, the interior is very spacious. I also like the sound system a lot. Driver's seat is very comfortable, so that's great. I have also sampled the back seat when another person drives, and it's comfy as well. Trunk is spacious. All in all it's a very efficient car.
En Contra
My biggest dislike is the field of view from a driver's perspective. It took me quite a while to get used to that change. I am used to it now, but I am a cautious driver so am not inclined to relax about it. Always be alert is my driving motto.

2000 Toyota Camry - Elk Grove Toyota
This dealership was great since they were helpful with answering questions. The staff was knowledgeable and on point with their cars. They also were friendly and helpful. Furthermore, they helped me know the ins and outs of buying a car and also on how to maintain the car. Test driving the car was the best thing I was able to do.
