Volkswagen Jetta Usados en Venta en Malden, MA

Just sold my Jetta after 5 great years in it. Bought the car w/20k miles on it. No issues until about 60k miles and the chrome strip on the right panel start to peel and had it replaced along with the catalytic converter which was covered under a warranty purchased when I bought the car. Around 80k the car would stall for a second and kick in under 1/4 tank gas. Never replaced the fuel pump, but I'm guessing that's the problem. The remote worked half the time around 80k miles as well. Other than that, I drove this car in all weather conditions and loved every moment of it through college. Sold it at 100k to a college student. Great car! Drove it hard at times and it kept up with the abuse. Never paid a dime in repairs! LOVED IT

When I left home for college I knew I needed a car. I had been riding bikes for as long as I can remember but I needed something for the long haul between cities. Well this 1984 Jetta really helped. It was an old car at the time, I bought it for $500 in 1999. There were some rust holes in the undercarriage and a few of these came up through the floorboards on the passenger side but it wasn't too embarrassing. It's been a few years, but from what I can remember I got pretty good gas mileage, probably 30 or more miles to the gallon. In general it ran fine, but I did have to replace the alternator a few times over the years. I don't know if that's a weakness with this particular model, or if the car I had just had a bad issue wiring. I drove that old thing until I crashed it on the highway in heavy traffic in '09 and totaled it. I think I had almost 300,000 miles on it. Good old car.
