I've had this car since November 2011 and absolutely love it. I've never previously used the VW brand, but liked the look of the new Passat so gave it a test drive. Overall, the engine sounded smooth from the get-go and had a good mix between power and fuel efficiency. When I'm on the highway, I typically get more than 40 mpg and have gotten as much as 50 at certain times. The vehicle is also extremely reliable. Outside of routine maintenance, I have never had a serious issue with it and have clocked almost 100,000 miles. It's a modest-looking ride, which is my preference, but has a stylish and modern look that is nice, but not too eye-catching. The interior of the vehicle is easy to clean, and the seats/cushions are durable enough to have withstood my young child and dogs over the year without any visible wear. As far as drawbacks go, for people who prefer something that is a bit auspicious, this is likely to seem like an overly modest vehicle. Additionally, one of the trade-offs of the fuel-efficient engine is it can come off as under-powered to some. However, if you are looking for a modern, modest but comfortable vehicle that can reliably get you and your family where they need to go, this is an excellent one to consider.

The quality of the car is great. My last car was a Honda and I was nervous about maintenance and handling of a VW, but I am pleased. It fits all of my baby gear, plus mechanic equipment that I constantly travel with in the trunk. And the back seats provide more than enough leg room for people over six feet tall! The black leather is comfortable and the seat warmers are perfect in the winter.
