My Ford Escape was well priced and gets excellent gas mileage (currently 25.3). It is roomy, and I enjoy being able to fold the back seat down to carry larger items. My tall friends are able to sit in the backseat comfortably, which is a big plus. The battery is kind of difficult to access, but that hasn't been a very big problem. I haven't needed any repairs in the two years that I've owned it, although I have received a couple of letters regarding recalls. The Bluetooth capability is awesome and a great feature.
Story
Riding two hours away with family can actually be a fun experience in this vehicle!
Pros
The gas mileage is my favorite part of owning a Ford Escape. I only have to fuel up once every week or two. It is also very roomy with plenty of room to take my three dogs places. Being able to fold the back seat down really helps with that and prevents too much hair from getting on the seats. It is also low to the ground, so older relatives have little difficulty getting into it. I also love that I can Bluetooth my phone to the speakers and speak hands-free.
Cons
There seems to be a leak in the driver's side roof, and we can't figure out where it is coming from. The plastic engine protector under the car is also falling off, which is pretty unsightly. We've also received two or three recall letters, which seems to be a little excessive.

I've had my Ford Escape for almost 3 years and I love it every bit as much as I did when it was new. There are little to no issues that I can complain about with it. It's luxurious, dependable, perfect for my lifestyle and just an all around awesome vehicle. It's the first SUV I've owned, and I would definitely buy another. Ford's redesign really impressed me. I disliked Fords prior but now love them.
Story
Since it's my first SUV (had a PT Cruiser prior), it's great when the streets flood a bit (nothing too dangerous). The PT Cruiser would squeal in protest when driving in water, but my Escape handles it like a pro.
Pros
Latest interior technology with MyFord Touch, very roomy, comfortable seating with the leather interior (but even the non-leather interior of the S and SE models is comfortable), very smooth ride, awesome handling, so quiet sometimes I have to check to make sure the engine actually is on. And for some reason, I really love the placement of the gear shift. No idea why, but I do.
Cons
Very minor issues. Would like the master window controls placed a bit lower on the drivers door. I always hit the wrong buttons. Better stability in the plastic housing on the back gate so you can use the handle to close the gate better. The rearview mirror tends to shift so that I have to adjust it every other day or so.

They had a large selection of what we were looking for. It was also a nice lobby to wait in.
