Ford Escape Owner Ratings & Reviews

2014 Ford Escape - Reliable and affordable.
I own a black 2014 Ford Escape that I have had for about a year. It is, by far, one of the most comfortable and affordable cars that I have owned. I would recommend anyone looking for an economical family option to consider this car.
Story
We went on a family camping trip. Normally we drive our bigger SUV; but a day before we were suppose to leave, a wheel baring on it went out leaving us no other option but to drive the Escape. Needless to say by the time all of the camping stuff, us and our two kids were packed in, everyone barely had room to breathe. Luckily, we were only going camping 45 minutes away, but it was a miserable ... (more)
Pros
The Ford Escape is a stylish little SUV; and with the titanium trim level, it really is a bang for your buck. It has plenty of get up and go--not a sports car--but overall impressive for a small SUV. The seats are some of the most comfortable I've ever had--the leather is soft and hugs you as you sit. The seat warmers get HOT-- which, for me, is wonderful, and with five settings you can pick exactly your level of comfort. The A/C runs cold; and with the size, it cools and heats quick and well. The back seat is roomy enough for two adults or two car seats. The car itself is smooth driving, ... (more)
Cons
The biggest negative for me in this SUV is the trunk space. While it is okay, it is a little small to carry all that you need for a family of four. It is quite a bit smaller than the truck space in our family's comparable Mazda CX5. Gas wise it is pretty efficient; however, once again, not as efficient as the CX-5. The back seat for three adults is really cramped and unrealistic for anything other than a quick drive.
2004 Ford Escape - Great Value
I purchased my 2004 Ford Escape in 2006. Unfortunately the previous owner removed the roof rack. This vehicle is more visually appealing with the roof rack. I have been a very satisfied with my Escape. I currently have 180,000+ miles and we are still going. This vehicle does require routine maintenance. At 135,000 miles I had to replace the transmission. I would recommend the Ford Escape to anyone who intends to keep a vehicle for 10+ years. If you like to buy or trade in a vehicle every 5 years or so then the Ford Escape is probably not the vehicle for you. I primarily serviced my car at a Ford dealership. However for oil changes, alternator etc. It is O.K. To have an Escape serviced by any licensed mechanic. The 2004 Ford Escape is not very efficient on gas mileage. The newer escapes... (more)
Story
When cargo is properly situated, this Escape can haul just about as much as a small pick up truck.
Pros
The locking differential on the 4WD is awesome and perfect if you ever have a need to go through sand. You have a true sharing of the 4WD power. Very roomy and comfortable for all passengers. Fold down back seats allow plenty of cargo carrying space. Nice cloth seats and plenty of cup holders. Separate front passenger storage armrest. The design of the front area permits vey clear visibility even for shorter passengers. Tilting steering wheel and nice cargo rear lift gate.
Cons
The interior heater does take awhile for the car to warm up on winter mornings. The defroster can also be slow in cold weather conditions. Brakes seem to wear out quickly as compared to other vehicles. Interior delay lighting can sometimes be slow to dim and turn off. Sometimes intermittent wipers can be difficult to set. Noticeable power surge with cruise control.

2015 Ford C-MAX Energi - Crossroads Ford Of Wake Forest
Worked with me to get the best deal possible. They gave me a fair value for my trade in. I felt appreciated the entire time and that they really wanted my business. Great follow up to the whole buying process. I never felt taken advantage of and was happy with the entire experience.
2006 Ford Taurus - Parkway Ford Winston Salem
Great dealership! Very friendly people.
The salesman was very helpful and had a lot of patience.
He let us drive the car home and we tried it out for a day.
I was completely satisfied with the whole buying process and would like to buy from them again.
