2014 Ford Explorer - Royal Blue beauty
I love my 2014 Explorer! I have had it for just over a year and taken many road trips in it already. I have put over 20,000 miles on it and have very few complaints. I found one in royal blue without all the perks but for an amazing price. It was a prior lease so low mileage, and routine maintenance was a comfort during the purchasing process.
Story
We took a family vacation in this car from Kansas to Louisiana and went with family somewhere. It was so nice to be able to comfortably fit four adults and two children with car seats in it for a two-plus-hour drive. We had fun going to an alligator farm, and the A/C on the way home was great!!
Pros
I love how it drives and handles. I had originally wanted an all-wheel drive model and the four-wheel drive, but I am happy with the one I have without those features. I have driven it in all four seasons, and it holds the road very well and is very comfortable to drive and ride in. I have taken several 800+ mile trips one way in this in a short amount of time with plenty of room for us and our stuff and room for the kids. I purchased the vehicle with 30,000 miles on it, and so far, I have had no problems or concerns with it.
Cons
I have very few complaints about this vehicle, and most of them have more to do with the model I purchased versus the vehicle itself. I wish it had four-wheel drive, as I do like the way it holds certain road conditions. I also wish it had black seats as tan is just ridiculous in a family vehicle. The only other thing I would change is the silver trim above the glove compartment; it is horribly reflective.
2005 Ford Explorer - Convenient, affordable, dependable
I love that my Ford Explorer truck has a third row. I have a big family so having the third row meant more space for my family when we take vacations together. We would not have to drive more than one car or take more vehicles.
Story
I drove my drove for the first time out of state to Florida to go to the beach.
Pros
I love the third row, riding high in the truck. It was affordable and it's dependable. I have had it for over four years, and it still runs great. It runs smoothly, and I haven't had any problems with it. The biggest problem I had with it was when I had to get another starter or tires that is about it. The Ford Explorer is a good and trusting brand most cars or vehicles I have had was from Ford. I can depend on the Ford vehicles, and as long as you take care of the vehicle, you can have it for a long time.
Cons
The only thing I don't like about the Ford brand is I heard once the transmission goes out on a Ford. It's best to get the transmission rebuilt and buy a new vehicle I don't want to have to buy a vehicle anytime soon so I try and take care of it the best I can. Also, most parts for a Ford Explorer will be expensive because of where the parts have to come from, and it also takes along time for the parts to come in.
