2005 Ford Explorer - Decent vehicle at first, but has needed constant repairs over time

Overall I rate this vehicle 3/5. My Ford Explorer has lasted me quite some time. It has nearly 150,000 miles on it since 2005. The car performs okay for most needs and gets me for point A to point B, but most of the parts on the interior of the car are very cheaply made.
Story
I have taken several road trips in this vehicle with friends. Although it is super costly to drive this vehicle long distances, it fits 5 comfortably compared to smaller cars so it made the trip comfortable for all my friends.
Pros
Pros: - This vehicle is excellent in the snow! If you live somewhere where it will eventually snow, this vehicle definitely pays off as it gets around very well. - It automatically switches to 4x4 - You can fit 5 people comfortably in this vehicle
Cons
Cons: - Awful gas mileage. This thing is a hog and get 14mpg, and around 17mpg highway. - Everything on it is cheaply made and starts to break from normal use. The rear windshield fluid dispenser stopped working. The back window hatch plastic paneling is defective and cracks down the middle (this was common on this model, yet there was no recall. There were even instances of the back window literally falling out due to poor design) - The metal pieces on the back window also started to rust for no reason - they are on the inside of the window)

I have had this vehicle for a little over one year now, and have gone through two snowy winters in Nebraska without any problems. I really love my Ford Explorer, because it is super comfortable, and has ample amounts of space for everything my family does. We take trips with our two dogs; a 140 pound Great Dane, and a 100 pound Lab with room to spare for anything we need to take along. I really enjoy the new look of the Ford Explorers. They are lower in profile than the previous models, and I think that this helps handling, but doesn't take away any of the storage. I chose a tan leather for the interior of my Explorer, and I think it looks fantastic. The interior has colored lights on the interior to help you see things when it is dark which is very helpful. Also included in t... (more)
Story
I think my favorite memory is going with my Fiancée, and our two dogs to the dog park and being able to see both dogs in the back of the car.
Pros
My favorite features of the car are the safety features in the back up camera, and blind spot eliminating mirrors. I also really like that there is a ton of space to transport pretty much anything that you could think of.
Cons
The biggest downside to this vehicle I think is the gas consumption. Realizing that it is a large SUV takes awhile to get used to when you're dumping $60 to $70 per fill up.
