2013 Ford F-150 - Good truck, mileage not so great.

Overall, the car is great. It gets around quite well in the snow, doesn't get stuck in mud or ditches easily, and can tow quite a bit. I don't regret buying the truck at all; however, I do wish I had done better analysis on the gas mileage. I knew I was getting a gas guzzler, but with new technology having already arrived and more soon to come, I wonder if I made a poor choice in getting a car that consumes a lot of gas. On the plus side, gas has been significantly cheaper for the past year or so, so it's easier to fill the tank up these days.
Story
Sometimes in winter, it's fun to go to an empty parking lot, turn off 4x4 and the traction control, and just slide around on the fresh snow.
Pros
Good-looking truck, and it's pretty powerful too. I've used it for some off-roading and have towed a few things with it. I'm a big fan of bonfires, so I've been able to load up a stack of pallets and drive out to a fire and enjoyed a comfortable ride and arrived with my pallets still secured. I've also gotten into a collision with it, and the truck really withstood a lot of the impact. The car that rear-ended me had a dented-in hood and broken headlights. My truck, on the other hand, had just a minor dent in the bumper. All the lights still worked, and the tailgate opens just the same. The... (more)
Cons
The gas mileage is pretty bad. Much less than advertised on the sticker. Realistically, I only get about 14 mpg average, and this number goes down considerably when I'm driving in snow with 4x4 on during the winter. Also, just a smaller thing that is mildly annoying, but the car displays a message for about five seconds that stops whatever music or radio program I'm listening to every time I start the car up. Lastly, the backseat is fairly small, but that's really just related to the model I got. If you're willing to spend more, which I wasn't, you can get a full-size backseat cab.

After the transmission on my 2003 Ford Explorer went at 280,000 miles, I decided to stick with Ford and purchased a 2012 F-150. I have had this truck for two years and will find it hard to ever go without owning a pickup like this. It is the most practical vehicle I've ever owned. Weather is never an issue, since this truck has no problem driving in rain, snow, etc. The only thing that hurts the fuel efficiency of this truck are the aftermarket tires that were installed by the dealer. My truck has 20" rims which call for big expensive tires. These tires are very knobby and tend to take away from the fuel efficiency of the vehicle. However, the trade-off of these tires is that I can drive through any amount of snow and mud when going to work.
Story
Me and a couple friends were planning on going snowboarding one morning at a mountain that was about an hour away from my house. It snowed about 6-8" overnight and was still snowing when we woke up. My truck, in 4-wheel drive, was able to make it through the snow and to the mountain with no problem. Because of the amount of snow and the road conditions, we were practically the only ones at ... Pros
The engine in this truck was new for the 2012 and I haven't had a problem with it yet. Instead of the V8, I have the V6 Ecoboost Twin Turbo Engine. This engine gives the truck plenty of power and fuel efficiency. I also have the full crew cab which gives me an incredible amount of space in the back seat. When comparing this pickup to other competitors, the space and leg room in this truck came out on top which was a big seller for me.
Cons
I still don't like how the buttons on my steering wheel tend to not work at random times. When I hit the "volume" button right above the "seek" button, the radio will begin to search instead of raise in volume. Something must be wrong with the wiring inside my steering wheel.

Didn't feel like the traditional car sales experience. They were very straight forward with the sale and honest. I told them what I wanted to pay and they made that work. They said they were going to make money too so it was a win win for everyone. The staff was courteous and we didn't have to fight with the salesman and the desk to finish the deal. I would recommend them to anyone.

Everyone working here, who I have encountered, is friendly and helpful. The dealership is modern and inviting. Upon arrival in the Quick Lane area, I was greeted by multiple people that truly worked as a team. These folks where the cheapest, most straight forward and honest I've dealt with when buying a new car. The service advisor was on top of the process (at least he seemed to be) and explained available discounts, rebates, and options --- which is what I expect from past experiences here.
