Ford Fiesta - good commuter
I bought my 2011 Ford Fiesta because I knew I would be commuting a good distance to work everyday (36 mi each way), and knew it got good gas mileage. It does get great gas mileage (I'm averaging 37-38 mpg on my commute and got all the way up to 39.2 mpg on a trip up to Iowa). For a commuter car, it's pretty good and was very affordable!

Awesome Fuel Efficient Commuter
I really enjoy that my Fiesta is incredibly fuel efficient. I also enjoy that it can be parked literally anywhere because of how small it is. It offers very generous trunk space for how small the car is. Has been very reliable without any problems at all. The ride is very smooth and the smart transmission that shifts to preserve gas is nice. I dislike that the backseat is so close to the front seat, but understand room is sacrificed in a sub compact format. The cloth interior has held up well over three years and the interior is very simple and clean. The displays are easy to access and read which makes it nice. Tires are a smaller size which makes for cheaper tire replacement. Would prefer better acceleration from the engine to be able to merge into traffic quicker. I can park this car almost anywhere due to its size and turn radius. The base package comes with an auxiliary port which is nice to use for playing music or podcasts. I don't use the CD player but it is nice to have. Wish it had Ford Sync as a standard feature in the base model. Trunk size is nice for how small the car is. Back seats fold down to make more room for extra long objects in the trunk.
