Dependable Ford Focus Wagon
I purchased this 2006 Ford Focus Wagon a few years ago to be able to pack up the whole family, plus camping gear to take on trips. It has served its purpose perfectly. It has never let us down, due in large part to always staying on top of maintenance. We've driven it all over the state of California since buying it, taken it to Yosemite, Sequoia National Park to name a few places. The kids love it; there's plenty of room for them to kick back and relax and take naps on longer trips. All of our camping gear fits in the back nicely. There's really not a single complaint I have about the car. The only con I can even think of is that the spare tire is in the trunk under some particle board. I would have preferred if it has been placed under the car. If the spare tire was somewhere else, then there would have even been an option to install a third-row seat. Now that is something that would certainly make this the most perfect dependable car ever made!

2008 Ford Focus—Meh at best.
Overall, for the price, this is a decent vehicle to use as a starter or as a first car. It is moderately dependable and feels very safe. The performance is nothing to write home about, and you will not be able to street race. However, the engine will rarely fail you until you get your money out of it. You can expect to hit 100,000 miles without any real issues other than the typical maintenance schedule. The interior and included stereo are about what you would expect for this kind of car...cheap. The fabric seats did not hold up well to abuse, and the radio blew speakers within the first couple months of listening to music loudly. In conclusion, there were some definite drawbacks to owning this vehicle, but it is more than worth the money for someone that just needs to get from point A to point B.
